Mahabharata Kingdom Map

Mahabharata referred Indian subcontinent as Bharata, not just the India we have today. At that time the entire Indian subcontinent was ruled by different kingdoms within and they all together were identified as different parts of Bharata.

These are some example Mahabharata and Ramayana kingdoms which were located outside today’s India –

1. Sita was born in Mithila, Nepal, which is in today’s Nepal.
2. The Kekaya kingdom was located in today’s Pakistan
3. Madra Kingdom was located in today’s Pakistan.
4. Gandhara Kingdom was located in today’s Afghanistan.
5. Kambojas Kingdom was located in today’s Iran.
6. Parama Kamboja Kingdom was located in today’s Tajikistan.
